repeal any existing legislation giving the power to wiretap or "bug"

the gangs who fight over black-market profits
in illegal drugs by abolishing the black markets by ending the no-win "War
on Drugs"; FBI studies reveal that over two-thirds of today's violent
crime is related to illegal drugs -- addicts commiting crimes to get money
to pay high black-market prices to gang punks, and gangs warring with each
other over drug territories. This is the same pattern that prevailed
during alcohol Prohibition over sixty years ago. The violence halted
only
after
Prohibition was ended. It is time to end government Prohibitionism
again. This does not in any way endorse the use or abuse of any substance
-- no more than the fact that legal cigarette smoking among adults implies
an endorsement of that vice. Legalization recognizes each adult citizen's
personal responsibility to make choices about what he or she ingests into
his or her own body, whether right or wrong or good or bad or healthy or
unhealthy, and assume the consequences and responsibilities that come with
those choices. When free markets replace black illegal markets, the
violent gangs and drug dealers will be put out of business as the prices
and profit margins for providing these drugs come down as the result of
legal competition in the open marketplace. Trying to stamp out drug
abuse through the coercive power of Big Government has spawned many intrusive
agencies, such as the BATF, DEA, and special pollice drug units and --
using the excuse of the "War on Drugs" -- these agencies have
often broken into the homes of totally innocent people, destroying or confiscating
their properties, harassing or even killing American citizens who have
nothing to do with illegal drugs, and generally violating the constitutional
rights of peaceful citizens in this "holy" crusade against drug
abuse. Forfeiture laws are routinely used in violation of the property
rights of American citizens. Americans must muster the courage to
trust themselves with the freedom to use -- or refuse to use -- drugs like
marijuana, coccaine, LSD, and methamphetamine. The ultimate result
of trying to shield adult people from the consequences of their foolish
choices is to fill the world with fools. A nation of free people
is characterized by one embracing individual personal responsibility.
Americans must relearn that virtue -- or risk losing their personal freedoms
altogether.
* A staunch supporter of the rights of consumers to choose the best products at the lowest prices, as they themselves judge the matter in any given situation. This means that Libertarian candidate Grant Stauffer opposes political interferences with the marketplace of production and trade. he opposes taxes and tariffs and regulations which unnecessarily raise prices of the goods and services consumers can buy. Any artificial costs imposed by government thievery on American producers and consumers make our goods and services more expensive and tends to handicap American producers in international competition by unnecessarily raising our prices above what they would be in a free market. American workers and manufacturers can compete with anyone in the world -- as long as the government gets out of their way and does not handicap them with a ball and chain composed of taxes and regulations. The enemy of American industry and American jobs is NOT foreign competitors nearly so much as it is our own U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. Grant would not only stop any new taxes and regulations on Americna industry, but would also seek to go back and repeal taxes and regulations which have already been passed and which should never have been enacted in the first place. This includes draconian "environmentalist" legislation which is routinely used today by the eco-fascists of the Clinton Regime to regulate and even take over private and state-owned lands. We can have clean air and water without bureaucratic regulations which are used to legitimize Federal land grabs.

Last but certainly not least, Libertarian candidate Grant Stauffer stands for
honesty and integrity in and out of government
office -- in sharp contrast to the corrupt Clinton
